Verrutop Verruca Treatment
Approximately 1hr per session.
Approximately 1hr per session.
Verrutop is one of the latest professional treatments primarily used for stubborn or hard to treat verrucae and warts.
Verrutop is best suited for either raised verruca/warts which occur on the top of the foot or toes, or smaller more superficial verruca. If someone has a large, long-standing verruca, other treatment options may be indicated.
Firstly, the overlying hard skin will be removed with a scalpel (this is usually painless, it may bleed sometimes which is normal). The Verrutop is applied with the applicator directly to the verrucae to be treated. The process is repeated a few times and then left to dry.
The manufacturer states that most individuals require 3-6 sessions of which each session is carried out every 1-2 weeks to eradicate the verruca. It is usually not advisable to have more than 6 treatments.
Verrutop aims to slowly shrink the verruca and clear the offending lesion throughout treatment.
Between appointments, it is necessary to clean the treated verruca with surgical spirits twice a day between sessions. This aids the drying effect of verruca, and if this is not done the effectiveness of the Verrutop is reduced. It is also advised to avoid long soaks in the bath/shower or similar for this same reason and also to not touch or pick the area between treatments.
It is normal for the verruca tissue to change colour to yellow, brown or black after the treatment.
It is said that the average person walks around the world 4 times in their lifetime.
That’s a lot of wear and tear on an often neglected part of your body that many take for granted.
Our foot health can affect both stability and mobility not to mention having poorly maintained feet can affect your self-confidence.
What happens during the initial appointment?
Before your first appointment with me, I will provide you with my medical history form. This will allow me to see if there are any areas of concern. During the first appointment, we will go through this form, discuss any foot concerns you have, and provide routine service.
How often should I make an appointment?
I recommend having a routine foot care appointment every 6 to 8 weeks.
Why do you need my medical history?
I require your medical history to help highlight any concerns or risks that might be involved in your foot health, such as diabetes.
How is the equipment cleaned?
All equipment is cleaned using Autoclave technology. Autoclave is one of the most efficient ways of sterilising and is even used in laboratories. All the equipment is sterilised inside a self-sealing sterilising pouch which is only opened when needed at your appointment, in front of you, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
I am available most days, but if I am not able to take your call please leave a message or email me.
